SYNOPSIS

A picture is worth 1,000 words — what about a song? In 35mm, each photo creates a unique song from a moment frozen in time.

Award-winning composer Ryan Scott Oliver’s music is inspired by Broadway photographer Matthew Murphy’s images in this thrilling new alternative-rock musical. Together, they weave a collection of remarkable stories told through song.

The increasingly prolific Adam Lenson directs – this is his fourth musical in six months – and he has a real knack for unearthing small-scale pieces, shows that approach the art form slightly askew, and turning them into really decent fringe productions.
— THE STAGE
Director Adam Lenson is here to work his magic with a piece that pushes ahead into new and magnificent musical theatre territory; he moves and choreographs the ensemble with delicious eloquence, transforming the small Studio platform into a grand arena
— BRITISH THEATRE
A vigorous and appealing show
— LONDON THEATRE 1
35mm explores the moments we take for granted in a photograph. It is simple, ingenious, intelligent and original, provoking ideals and beliefs found living under 21st century constraints.
— ANDREW EXETER
35mm is doing something different here and it should be appreciated for that
— THERE OUGHT TO BE CLOWNS
A unique show and an extremely powerful cast. I would definitely recommend going to see it
